He renews my strength. Psalm 23:3
step 1: read the devo
step 2: listen to the worship playlist while you paint your nails
step 3: let your nails be a reminder
renew means to resume after an interruption.
how often does life interrupt us? often. like all the time.
how often does Jesus give us everything we need? every. single. time. He is a faithful, caring Father.
sometimes when life interrupts us, the enemy tries to convince us we don’t have time in our schedule to intentionally love and care for the people we are around. or even worse, we feel like it gives us permission to have a bad attitude… and that is just not true.
you’ve read Hebrews before: “let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles (like having a bad attitude, not being patient, not be kind, being easily angered, complaining, etc) and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. for the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. consider Him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.”
there you go! there it is! that is your action plan. the next time life interrupts you, don't grow weary. don't worry. laugh without fear of the future. be full of faith. give thanks to God. and as you acknowledge His Presence, trust Him to renew your strength. so, that you can resume running the race… with a smile. :)
let this be your reminder that He renews your strength. Psalm 23:3
