our story
my aunt nancy
growing up my aunt nancy was my mentor and hero (that’s us in the picture). she always painted her nails gold to remind herself of heaven, her eternal purpose. learning from my aunt’s example, I started wearing nail polish as a visual reminder for myself by renaming the color to names like “hope”, “joy”, “peace”, “believe” whatever I was reading in the Word. just like my aunt nancy.
everything changed
my aunt nancy sadly passed away from cancer in 2021. she lived a beautiful life and the ways she used visual reminders impacted me greatly.
I will never forget the time I read the small font on my nail polish bottle where it said “may cause cancer”. only to discover, most nail polishes from discount stores and salons, are full of toxic chemicals linked to hormone imbalances, reproductive problems, headaches, and more. so, I threw out all of my polishes and looked for healthier options but I couldn’t find what I was looking for.
making a difference
I decided to start making nail polish myself and it became my favorite hobby. it literally took me two years to figure out how to source all the better-for-you ingredients. I eventually figured it out and I named the colors, put together worship playlists and wrote little devotionals with each color. I never imagined this would become a business, but friends started asking me if they could buy my polish. the demand for it quickly out-grew my house.
my hope
it is an overwhelming joy to get to give women encouraging reminders throughout their week. nail polish has been an incredible gift in my life. I hope it blesses our customers even more than it has blessed me. my aunt used to say “don’t doubt in the darkness what you learned in the light.” in the midst of life’s many things, I hope our polish will remind women of the most important things.
